Fuel Assistance and Weatherization
The federal government, in conjunction with state and local agencies, helps low-income residents pay for heating oil and efficiency-related home improvements. Here is information to help you contact assistance providers and learn whether your household qualifies.
Fuel Assistance:
The Maryland Energy Assistance Program, Pennsylvania Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) and Delaware Energy Assistance Program help low-income residents pay their heating bills through home heating energy assistance grants.

Weatherization:
Maryland, Pennsylvania and Delaware also offer Weatherization Assistance Programs to help homeowners reduce heating costs by improving energy efficiency. Funds can be used for insulation, heating system repairs or replacements, and more. Eligibility is based on income.
