Fall hurricanes, severe rainstorms, and gusty winds can zap your home’s power in the blink of an eye!
Are you prepared?
September is National Preparedness Month, and we’d like to take this time to remind you that Alger Oil & Propane, through our trusted partner, sells and installs emergency backup generators, plus all the propane you need to keep your generator going throughout the storm!
With a generator at your home, if the power goes out you’ll still have heat, light, fresh food in the fridge, and all the video games your kids will want to keep them occupied!
How does an emergency backup generator work?
An emergency backup generator (also called a standby generator) works by automatically detecting a utility power loss, disconnecting your home from the electrical grid, and starting an internal combustion engine to supply new electricity. Permanently installed outside your home, a standby generator connects directly to your propane supply and links to your electrical panel through a special control device.
Why should I put propane in my generator?
In one word, efficiency. Propane-powered appliances and other propane applications deliver homeowners better value and comfort compared with most other energy sources, while also reducing overall energy costs.
Be prepared! Call 800-590-0600 or contact Alger Oil & Propane to learn more about our generators and our propane services.
